Founded
at McMaster University in 2004, Random Purpose
Productions is a young, edgy group of individuals
that aspires to bring fresh concepts and techniques
to the film scene. A pillar for RPP is to
not limit ourselves. There is virtually no
artistic genre, subject nor project we will
not shoot. Thus our films relationship with
each are normally only related with stylistics,
not through concept. We have a copious amount
of small and large projects that are planned
for the future. Another pillar of RPP is something
we call the Web
Illuminata: that is, the network
of artists we are creating. Any aspiring and
ambitious artists (regardless of the art)
will be supported by RPP. Whether it is something
in production or discussion, we strive to
proliferate many other careers of people we
know in order to prevent any talents we come
across from being bullied our or ignored by
others. Artistic voices are meant to be shared
and heard, not silenced. Our founders are:
 |
Jon
Lau – also known as the
“Vidwiz Wonderkid”, is an
extraordinary film editor, director and
artist that sends people on trips of visual
awe during the production process. Jon
is head and shoulders above many people
who know the ins and the outs of editing.
When he is in the editing room it is almost
supernatural to see his ideas bloom. |
 |
Nick
San Juan – also known as
the “Shadow”, is involved
in virtually every aspect of the production
process from editing to producing. He
is everywhere where you can’t see
him, thus his alias. Although he has many
skills, his strength is visualizing music
for scenes and is the primary music supervisor
for RPP. The stroke of his musical pen
creates a much more in depth experience
to each project. |
 |
Laird
Hercules – also known as
the “Skipper”, is primarily
the screenwriter for RPP but is also involved
in all of the other production areas.
He is also the person that deals with
contacts and public relations. Laird is
the most public of all the members and
lets his creative presence be known throughout
all of the projects. |
